You should never mention generalized anxiety. Anxiety is a normal part of any medical issue. If you lead with that, doctors will often dismiss you or introduce bias. Don't do that.

You're also overthinking a bit. You don't need to be overwhelmed with too much extraneous data or what it COULD be. Focus on getting to a doctor that can diagnose with is going on with your PT and you can figure it out from there. PAD disease is unlikely and that can be easily diagnosed with ultrasound and/or ABI. Don't worry too much about that. They aren't really related.

With that said, you should mention the leg pain, but do not lump it all together. That should also be investigated separately.

Thank you, now I know why they dismissed what I’m feeling after they find out that I have anxiety. It’s hard not to tell them because they have the info in their system.

I agree that they are not related and should be investigated separately. I just need a doctor that cares and would help me find my diagnosis

      @MissM

This is going to be hard to place into words without several hours of conversation.

PAD or vein artery disease: Some reasons: Can start younger in life due to a combination of atherosclerosis - cholesterol, stress and hypertension. One may be able to see arteries or swelling in legs and feet.
This becomes more of a problem with one becomes older in association to the carotid artery.

With being older, less exercise, continued stress causing hypertension can have the heart needing to work harder to pump blood causing body vibrations - not good with dental problem pain or pain from another conditions or disease as I know.

When getting older more association to the left leg and calves can include muscle breakdown, one leg shorter than the other, dehydration and less exercise. Too much exercise may not be good for the heart as BP increases. Try placing more pressure on leg that does not hurt when walking.

A hypertension crises or hypertension moments can cause problems with the abdominal aortic vessel when one get older, vision, wet or dry eye problems, heart, kidneys and headaches. Abdominal aortic vessel problems mostly happen to those older than 60, but can happen to those in their 50's. More common with men and 8% of men over 65 die from a combination of heart disease and abdominal aortic aneurysm - dissection. This can increase problems with the carotid. I really doubt that you have this problem.

Things to notice over 50 with stress, anxiety and hypertension.
Swelling of legs - can happen younger.
Abdominal pain, chest pain, hip and back pain.
Vision, wet or dry eye problems, other eye problems.
      Kidney problems.
Cholesterol levels - atherosclerosis and any positives in lab work - blood and urine.
      Body vibrations, headaches.
All of this as well can associate to the carotid.

Not a doctor, so I should not discuss medications, but they are needed.
Some tests that responsible doctors will use.
      MRAs
      Ultra sound of legs.
Angiogram of abdominal aortic vessel if pain is present, otherwise ultrasound.
Pressure tests and examination for the eyes from a Neuro Ophthalmologist.
      Heart ECHO

With proper treatment you may see great improvement. Not sure for you, but stress over many years can cause atherosclerosis without being a smoker. It may be that your PT associates to carotid.

Hi @MissM - Did you ever get this resolved?

I'm also near Vancouver BC and would be interested in what (if any) path you managed to find to get to the right specialists.

Were you able to make any progress with your condition?
