      Hi all!

After “managing “my tinnitus for months, I am back having hard tim.

I took some antibiotic for a bacterial angina.

First Amoxicillin which did nothing (tinnitus and angina), 2 g per day for 5 days.

Then they gave me Josamycin, same dose of 2 g per day for 6 days.

Angina is gone but my tinnitus is now through the roof.

Could this medicine mess up with my ears?

I checked on internet and found no reports of ototoxicity!

      Any advice will be welcome!

Yes mycins are generally ototoxic when given intravenously but less so when taken orally.

      To Jeremy06:
I was on Azithromycin and after the second day it made my tinnitus so explosive that I was ready to notify the Doctor that I had to stop.
However, I was notified that I had to complete the five day course, and I ran a gauntlet of tinnitus spikes.
There are numerous on line reports that this is a common side effect among various antibiotics.
They do leave the metabolism within 7 to 10 days, and I have not had any further such spikes.
