I've been feeling extremely depressed and suicidal once every week, what should I do?

These feelings have been eating me away. I just wish this cycle of feelings stopped, I miss being my old self before this tinnitus started.

I really wish there was a cure, both for tinnitus and for these feelings.

Take to your doctor @Artur who may suggest taking anti-depressant and I advise you to take it. It will act as a safety net to help prevent you from becoming depressed. It is common to feel this way in the early stages of tinnitus which you are in.

      All the best
      Michael

Arthur you can also ring Mental Health or Samaritans or Mind to talk you down from that feeling when its hard to cope and like @Michael Leigh says ,contact your doctor or even admit yourself into hospital for a week or two to a safe place to help you get some treatment.
      Love glynis

Thank you very much @Michael Leigh and @glynis for these supportive messages. I will be in contact with my GP and see if I can be appointed to a psychiatrist or a hearing therapist, I would be willing to take anti depressants but I am somewhat afraid of making the noise worse. If I feel this down again I will phone Mental Health, I really dont want to feel this way again, it's like I'm a different person which makes me afraid of what that different person might do.

      Kind Regards :),

Have you been using sound masking?

Have you experienced any improvement compared to how you used to feel three months ago?

@Bill Bauer I do feel an improvement specially using sound masking at night.
The main problem is that I am a bit suspecious of telling myself that I'm improving, I'm afraid I might be just lying to myself about the volume of tinnitus to feel less overhelmed by it. I like to believe that prior to August the 19th I would hear it over my computer and pretty much throughout my entire apartment and that after August the 19th I just heard it in the dead silent bathroom and that I now only hear it in the bathroom several times in a week.

That is one of the central problems, it's to know how to objectively measure the volume of tinnitus.

I had encountered the same problem.

You can try comparing the volume of your tinnitus to the loudest (and quietest) noise you can make when you breathe air in through your nose...

If your T has faded over the past couple of months, it ought to continue fading, albeit at very gradually.

Try to have sound enrichment playing in the background @Artur during the and at night. The sound should be set lower than the tinnitus and mustn't mask it.

Hi Artur - keeping notes on my condition in my iPhone note book helps me think straight.
Sometimes they start of in a despairing way, but eventually my determination kickstarts my positivity, and I feel like I am making headway.
      Take care my friend.
