Currently in week 7 of a cold turkey benzo withdrawal. Tinnitus started around week 4. I was ruminating and ruminating on what could have happened, what could have been a trigger. And then I remember that on a night in week 4, I decided to go a club to listen to house music - my love.

Tinnitus started creeping up maybe a day or two after that. Fuck if only I didn't go out that night. Now I've been to a lot of clubs in my life but perhaps in benzo withdrawal the sensitivity of the whole system is heightened, so going out that night was not a good idea.

Just wanted to get this off my chest... it's so absurd. If only I stayed home that night... And I feel like I'm almost out of withdrawal.

Share your stories if you can remember a particular trigger that changed everything.

Welcome to the forum. Damage to hearing from loud music can be a cumulative thing and tinnitus can appear after it reaches a degree of damage. So it is hard to be 100% sure that the benzo withdrawal has caused your tinnitus to flare up after the club night. So try not to blame yourself too much. Have you tried masking your tinnitus or get some prednisone to help?

Thanks Billie. Will go to ENT specialist in the next few days for the first time. See what they say.

4th week of ear buzzing... from suspected benzo withdrawal suspected... yesterday, all day, i could have sworn it almost went away... couldn't even hear it unless I really tried to listen to it.

Went to sleep, woke up with it 2 hours later... it's like it's calling me to off myself.
