Hi folks,

Just over ten months now since my tinnitus went mad and turned into two jets waiting to take off. I think I have been doing very well, as now I feel I am stable with the tinnitus.

My psychology seems to have returned to a stable state. My approach has been to face the noise head on (couldn't do that at first). I can even sleep with no sound distractions in the background for most times.

The tinnitus is still there, but somehow I can sleep. It's not as if the noise goes away at night, but weirdly I sleep.

Having reached a reasonable stability, I wonder if trying other methods of masking/modulation will ruin the position I'm in. I can mask the noise completely with white noise, but then as you know it comes back. Does this re-enforce the tinntus even more?

I'm not sure.

Thanks.

From experience, keep doing what is WORKING for you right now. No need to introduce new tools or methods if you are happy with your results. I am actually VERY proud of you. I use to read many of your posts and I know just how hard it has been for you.

Keep up the great work my friend :)

! Fishbone, you are a Buddha my friend. Thank you for your kind words. With our Tinnitus its like rolling dice isnt it? we just dont know what score we are going to get.

As Bruce Lee would say "Be water my friend"

That's so interesting that you use that quote. I am a huge fan of master bruce and I have tons of his books and I use some of his training as well. Hey bro, I just pay it forward in life and try to help people. It pays off. If you give, you shall receive :)

I have talked and helped so many lonely homeless people, when the world has shut them out. Always try to give and be kind to others, no matter how bad you feel.

Don't go back, I did. Im still mentally ok with the extra noise, but I was so relieved to be sleeping without background sounds. I went back for comfort and it brought back attention to the t at night. What the heck?! 'like rolling dice' I like that. If I'm stable I should not introduce new things, especially since listening to stuff to sleep is so not where I want to be. The freedom was so nice and rewarding. I'll make it back.
