Don't miss the opportunity to attend Tinnitus Quest's online Q&A with Dr. Susan Shore and Jon Pearson, CEO of Auricle on October 13. We will hear the latest about the Susan Shore Device.
Was just wondering if anyone liked to bowl and has done so with T with no issues... I love bowling but AGAIN theres noise that comes along with that. So pathetic. And im talking a bowling/ or bowling league with tons of people. Thanks!
I'm not in a bowling league, but I have been bowling several times since my tinnitus got worse. I've had no ill effects, and in fact, I liked the background noise because it drowned out my T! If you're considering a bowling league, why not go by yourself, or with one other person, and bowl a couple of games --- just to see if it affects you. It is always a good idea to take ear plugs along with you, just in case.....
Thanks for your reply! Yeah i would bring/ wear earplugs. The thing is im always asking on here " if this is gonna make it worse, or that" but everything ive done so far with T hasnt spiked it or changed it or anything.( except for maryjane and sometimes alcohol makes it go up for a bit but not noticeably. . Which is a good thing and i always wear earplugs around loud things but then im still paranoid cause hearing loss is cumalative.. So not worried about the bowling hurting my ears or spiking them but bowling once a week in a loud league with 80 people gets loud so even with plugs once a week for 2 and a half hours is that gonna cumalate to louder T in a year from now? Who knows just sucks i gotta worry bout things i enjoy and my T is actually like to the point where its like 97% gone but its still there sooo faintly and still paranoid about it Which i guess is a good and bad thing.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I've had severe T for over four years now, and nothing so far has made it get any worse. Yes, it's true that hearing loss may be cumulative, but for me it hasn't seemed to work that way.
If I were you, I'd take the ear plugs, and enjoy the bowling! If it gets too loud, you could always walk outside for a few minutes to get away from the noise.

Hi Grace, I don't bowl either, but like Karen I have been in bowling alleys and it had no effect on my T. As for you comment " The thing is im always asking on here " if this is gonna make it worse, or that" You just go ahead and ask away, that is part of what this group is all about, helping each other whenever the need arises.
Now go and bowl that 300 game...

I'm in a bowling league I find it good to get out. I don't find the noise to be a problem. I bring my earplugs just in case. Go out and have some fun and forget about T for awhile
