      Hi everyone.

Today I was inserting my custom earplugs, they're plastic with foam tips, my finger slipped and my nail bumped into the plastic part.

It sounded loud in my ear.

I put my earplug up against my decibel meter and and recreated it.

      It read 104 dB.

Should I be concerned about a permanent spike?

there is no way that created a 104db sound. at all. zero. by that logic we'd all be deaf from eating potato chips, which crunch while we eat.

Absolutely nothing to fear. I do that most days and have never had an issue

No need to worry, but make sure to not do that again.
