Can Ototoxic Medication Induce Hyperacusis?

I know acoustic trauma can induce hyperacusis, tinnitus, and tensor tympani syndrome.

But can ototoxic drugs induce hyperacusis?

I'm asking because I can feel my tinnitus as a vibration, and I'm beginning to wonder if it's really tinnitus and not something else like tensor tympani syndrome.

Thanks for the reply @Red . I'm getting more anxious about this condition with everyday, and doctors are saying there is nothing wrong with my ears. I don't know who I can trust about this issue anymore.

Doctors' education on tinnitus and hyperacusis is outdated. Research in this area is very poor. I firmly believe tinnitus+hyperacusis management is on equal footing with humours.
I trust people on this forum more than doctors, which most of them don't have T. I would only trust a doctor who has or had bothersome T/H themselves.

This is my opinion. Ultimately it is your choice.

Becareful with ototoxic drugs, as can do damage very similar to loud sound.
Acoustic traumas are a nightmare.

Middle ear muscles can also be related to tinnitus and to hyperacusis...

All of us want to know more but more than that to be symptom free...

We are dealing with a complex situation, actually some can have physical pain all the time or weird sensations, this in most cases resolves over time. I'm on the waiting...

Most medical literature used to say that damage to hearing nerve fibers is irreversible. There is the odd possibility that sound can find other ways to go through, maybe due to new neural synapsis, but this is largely a theory.
