Caution of Medication (Tegretol)

      Tinnitus Since:
      2017
      Cause of Tinnitus:
      Anti-epileptic medication
      I’ve been experiencing tinnitus most evenings since I started taking anti-epileptic medication in 2016 and just wanted to mention to anyone thinking of taking tegretol be aware of that as a possible side effect!!!

      stress, benzo/clonozepam + clonidine, maybe infection
      Hmm my doctor prescribed it to me to reduce tinnitus due benzo withdrawal. Now I'm debating.

      You wrote that you have been experiencing tinnitus since you started taking Tegretol in 2016, but from your profile tinnitus since 2017. I ran confused, could you please expand?

      Tinnitus Since:
      2008 but cured and relapsed from benzos
      Cause of Tinnitus:
      ssnhl/benzos/unknown
      I have tried tegretol and temporarily it can lower tinnitus but in long term will make it worse, like benzos it is not a solution, their side effects are tinnitus/hyperacusis/pitch shift/hearing disturbances
