CBT for Pulsatile Tinnitus?

      First time: Noise 2nd Time: Ototoxic drug
      Hi, Doctor Hubbard,

      I was wondering if CBT or TRT would work for patients with pulsatile tinnitus. I have both hissing tinnitus and pulsating tinnitus. I've had various tests to rule out any dangerous conditions that might be causing the pulsating tinnitus.

      Have you ever heard of these methods succeeding with pulsatile tinnitus patients?

      Thanks very much for any information you can provide.

      sorry for the late reply. I don't know of any CBT studies specifically addressing pulsitile tinnitus. I've had success helping with people with pulsitile. Once you've got a clear bill of health from your medical doctor, as you have, then CBT would precede as usual, with a focus on softening your relationship with the sounds (and sensations if you have them). I can't speak to the effect of TRT on pulsatile tinnitus.
