Hello, everyone. My tinnitus began in 2022, with no known cause. My general practitioner recently prescribed Augmentin and a nasal spray for sinusitis. After taking the first two doses of Augmentin, I experienced a significant spike in new tinnitus tones. I have not slept in four days.
Yesterday, I decided to try a single dose of Cinnarizine 10 mg (sold over-the-counter here under the brand name Zyrtec). I chose it primarily for its antihistamine effect because one of my ears feels clogged and slightly painful. Additionally, its side effect of drowsiness and potential tinnitus relief seemed beneficial.
About an hour later, it knocked me out. I woke up in the middle of the night with an unexpected sensation: I could breathe. Finally! Even more surprisingly, nearly 90% of my old and new tinnitus tones were gone. I couldn't believe my ears.
There is still an occasional soft ringing in both ears, but the improvement is remarkable.
