I've had a flu or cold for a week and my tinnitus has gotten much worse. The noise is so loud and doesn't ease up.

The noise from my tinnitus usually gets lower and some days is gets loud for a few days and comes down. Now, it's not letting up! It's very loud and stays that way.

Hoping the noise subsides after this cold? Wondering if this is normal? I've had this tinnitus for a over a year and a half, but haven't had a cold or anything why getting tinnitus. First time. It is normal for the noise to get louder with a cold and coughing and stuffy head?

Tinnitus can spike with a cold or flu.
When your symptoms have gone it can take a few more weeks for the tinnitus to settle.
Also keep any eye out for secondary infections effecting your ears.
