Could This Walking Issue Have Been Related to Hearing Damage?

Shortly after my hearing had been damaged and I was still habituating to my new situation, I would never get dizzy as some people have mentioned in other threads, but I would, out of the blue, forget how to walk right. Like my body was out of sync with itself, and my legs couldn't decide to put each foot forward. This lasted for about a year, and went away mysteriously.

Could this possibly be a balance related misfire? I have never heard anyone else ever say they forgot how to "walk", per se.
