      Cause of Tinnitus:
      Operation, hearing loss, who knows
I have had an operation in my left ear in 2003 after 3 yrs complete hearing loss in that ear and have had tinnitus non stop after that. I have hearing loss in both ears and the right ear is becoming quite useless. Tinnitus is messing with what lute hearing I have. I don't have hearing aids yet, but I avoid situations where I have to for instance order food. I have never really done anything about the tinnitus because everything says it "might" work and I don't have the money to throw at this. I also have tmj disorder and osteoarthritis in my jaw joint.

So the question is whether there is something that actually works. Not supplements that might. If not, that's also cool, I've done this for 14 years and I have made friends with the cicadas, thinking of naming them.

A mouth splint could help take pressure off your jaw .

Unfortunately I have permanent damage in the joint and while I don't grind my teeth, the muscles spasm all by themselves. Had a mouth guard and it only made the symptoms worse.

It depends what your root cause is. Some things work for some people, but nothing works for everyone.

Don’t even think about it Mrs M.
I got up to three dozen, and ran out of names.
Not only that, it’s the devil of a job to sort the boys from the girls, and they get very ‘sniffy’ if you get it wrong.

(Love your S of H, by the way.)

Ya know, it would be great if somebody could tell me the cause too! Nobody knows. I am too damn young to feel this old!

Jazzer, I think mine is all female, they sit there and chatter, and gossip and judge all day and night. If they were male they would not have this much to say! They never stop. But I'm thinking that if I learn sign language with the hubby, at least I will understand somebody!

      Hello Mrs M and welcome

I'm intrigued as to what operation you had in your left ear if you previously had no hearing?
