Do you mean your mood is unaffected when experiencing tinnitus

I've been diagnosed with severe tinnitus 5 years ago and I don't have a mood disorder, although it's been said that one's reaction to tinnitus may play a role in it's severity.

Of course we do. I have pain in both ears. I am not nice any more. I cried all the time.
I should not on here because I am not nice any more. It hurts. Pain is a sin. My sin is
tmj. probably disorder. Shame on me. It comes upon like a thief in the night. No one in pain is going to be nice.

I think a person can be in pain and still a decent personally outwardly. But I would say yes, the vast majority with loud tinnitus...loud tinnitus makes it harder to habituate...ask Ernie...yes, they have a mood disorder because of it. Those with mild tinnitus that habituate...my tinnitus doesn't dramatically affect my mood but rather it is something I am aware of sometimes when I sit and type in silence for example when my T is moderate...it varies...for those with mild T, I would say its more there than affecting mood.

I wouldn't call it a mood disorder. But my tinnitus has definitely made me more volatile. I get angry with how it happened to me, and how I'm expected to suffer in silence both figuratively and literally.

It's just like how pain (chronic pain) changes a person.

Hell yeah my mood is affected. But I wouldn't call it a mood disorder. Im uncomfortable and in pain all the time due to my Hyperacusis and honestly that bothers me more than my loud tinnitus.

      I have no idea.
I think I read the question wrong, but I have a mood disorder, and I think the medications may be making the tinnitus worse. The tinnitus itself doesn't cause a mood disorder.
