Ear Wax Removal Anxiety

I'm not good at these so sorry if it's not understandable but I've been having an impacted ear for almost 2 months and I've been holding off going to the doctor or hospital because I'm terribly afraid of getting my ear irrigated.

It's torture for me. I just freak out whenever any liquid is in my ear and I have tinnitus so that makes them more sensitive.

I have a doctor's appointment in about a week and I'm hoping for a referral to an ENT specialist to get my ears manually cleaned or at least microsuction.

I'm afraid of both due to people saying there tinnitus got worse and I can't put ear drops for 10 days.

I could barely have ear drops in for 10 minutes. I know it sounds childish but it's a fear of mine since I was a kid, maybe it's a phobia but any advice is appreciated.

Every ENT have a special tool to get your wax out, without making a sound.
Insist on him using that.

I'm sure it doesn't apply in all cases but Microsuction screwed my ears up. I'm sure it was more the idiot Audiologist who performed the procedure but my personal opinion is AVOID!

Have you considered asking them to use a curette? (I did)

Yes, no microsuction. Tinnitus is so poorly misunderstood. The quieter the better.

Yeah I've read a lot about avoiding microsuction so I guess ima try to get them manually cleaned if not then my only option is to get them irrigated but I hear a lot of horror stories about ear irrigation too
