I remember I did not manage to find the results. So I sent an e-mail on December 31, 2014 to Deborah Hall, the investigator of this clinical trial, to ask for the results. She kindly replied to me the same day (sorry for the translation from English to French, then from French to English):

Patients have made too many deviations in the test protocol and have too often missed the instructions of the manufacturer. None of these factors was essential individually but, taken as a whole, it was feared that the results of the study could not be considered scientifically robust. It was therefore with regret that it was concluded that the results of the trial could not be published with confidence.

Compliance is definitely a challenge for these types of therapies...

I personally believe that the future of treating tinnitus is in the drug industry and gene therapy.

If any of this stuff really really worked, the word would spread like wild fire and we would all be lining up to buy them. The fact remains that they only help a few "lucky" people who I have to wonder would habituate on there own with no expensive device. If you want to use sounds you can use sounds for almost no money with a smart phone and a pair of headphones.
