I'm developing a stye in one of my eyelids and am worried that I will have to take antibiotic eye drops. Was wondering what peoples' experiences were. My last two major spikes were caused by oral antibiotics, and I really don't want to make a bad situation worse. Any alternatives to antibiotics for a stye? Would an antibiotic ointment be safer?
In doing more research it appears in most cases styes go away on their own. I'm applying heat to the area but also want to prepare if it doesn't go away on its own and I need to see an eye doctor who will likely prescribe antibiotics.
