In the USA it is the 4th of July--but celebrated on the 3rd this year. Something about holidays that fall on Saturday being celebrated on Friday. Personally, I think that the 4th of July--Independence Day-- should be celebrated on the 4th--but what do I know. :)

My spouse had to work so I was around all day by myself. He forgot about my T (I don't talk about it much as it serves no purpose) and asked me to the fireworks tonight. When I told him it probably wasn't a good idea but he should go if he wanted to, he decided not to go. My point? I could've gone with ear plugs but what would be the point of that? Anyway, I feel guilty that he's missed two year's fireworks. We used to go out on a boat to see them in New York City.

Anyway, I digress. What I want to say is that this is a wonderful community. I haven't spent a whole day here since I started feeling better and I'm glad that I did today. I can see that those of us who feel better should be here--not all the time because then we think of our tinnitus more--but some of the time because it shows newbies better than anything that there is life with tinnitus. It can be done. So I'm going to drop by more often because when I needed desperate help, it was here for me.

That is so lovely of you, Isn't that about the site is all about we are all for each other when we need each other :) And I'm glad to know your feeling better :) And by the way I know why you feel guilty but you don't need to, fireworks are loud and dangerous for everyone not just us so really you did your spouse a favour :) Besides I'm sure he understands. A life with tinnitus Is possible and your post here made me realise that again
Thank you :) Hope to hear from you soon again :)

Thank you @Georgia--I didn't think about it like you said. I did do my spouse a favor!

I'm really happy to meet you and hope we have many more times to talk. :)

I have been going to fireworks many times since T. I don't go near to the site where they send off the fireworks. Me and my wife like to go farther from the site where we don't hear too loud but still see the patterns of the fireworks and enjoy the events. Here in Vancouver, we just had the July 1st Canada Day fireworks. Then we will have 3 more fireworks in July where 3 countries will compete on 3 separate nights in an event called the Celebration of Lights. It is nice on these summer evenings to picnic in a beach and watch these wonderful fireworks. Staying far enough from it, we still manage to enjoy the evenings without risking hearing damage.
