Tinnitus Since
I had it my whole life born 1986
Cause of Tinnitus
Unknown but worsening from lowd sound's. Ear infections.
I'm a 32 male. I have had some form of tinnitus from the age of 6. From a young age I just assumed that silence was an ever lasting hissssss. The hiss was like the sound of speaker turn high till it hisses. There was a washing sound also to which I assumed what the sound of blood rush in my body sounds like. The concept of true silence is alien to me. It sound like being numb or blind.

Over the years my tinnitus has worsened. New sounds have joined me and I'm getting to a breaking point. Ringing. The sound of an EEE flat line. I worked my life around ear plugs at clubs and stuffing them in when there was noise that I felt was too much. Both ears are now ringing in some tone. The other hiss I had my whole life has an over powering ringing to it.

It's very hard to work now. My dreams of having a job that requires my ears is now out of my reach. I was to be a boom mic operator. Ringing will compromise my judgment while recording. As I cannot determine if the sound is real or in my head.

My name is Conrad Baron Mactavish. I needed to post some place to let someone know.

If you read this I may be gone or maybe I'm cured. Hearing aids or surgery or stem cells having repaired some of the damage.

Just know this.

If you read this you are not alone.

Welcome to the forum. Here you can rant and share your experiences. We understand and we can learn from each other. Yes, millions have tinnitus of varying degree. So we are not alone, especially here in the TT forum.

Have you considered never being around live music ever again? Ear plugs might have provided you with a false sense of security...
