      I had to shout yesterday, for quite a while...

      Since then my ears have been in pain and my eustachian tubes hurt.

      I have patulous eustachian tubes and even talking hurts and my voice sounds awfully loud...

      What damage did I do by raising my voice so much.. should I get Prednisone or something...?

      I'm so sick and tired of all these ear problems...

      Whoever said "tinnitus is a symptom not a disease" has no idea what demon level hell loud tinnitus can be :(

      it's a symptom because it arises from hearing loss, not the root problem even if it is worse then the original problem.
      Sorry about your suffering, calling it a smyptom doesn't underline how awful tinnitus can be.

      Shouting should not do much damage as long as you are the one doing it...the sound kind of travels away from you.
      I hear you on the "symptom"...in this case the so called symptom is 10x worse than any disease that might be causing it..

      @Wolfears

      I know normally the ears can kind of protect themself from shouting by tightening the ear muscles etc but I have severe ear myoclonus so I'm afraid my ear muscles don't do their job.. they just spasm randomly and cause hyperacusis... And patulous eustachian tubes make the sound travel to the inner ear... (?).. :(

      I agree. And it's scary to think that tinnitus might get worse over time. I don't even want to think about how loud it can get when I start to lose more of my hearing...

      Try not to, you may not lose so much hearing that you notice the increased T but I understand your fear, I’m the same. God, hopefully something will be found before then to help/alleviate this!!! x
