Any recommendations on less noisy home appliances such as vacuum cleaners and anything else?

YES! My mother in law just got one of the those Bosch ultra quiet vacuums. I myself haven't vacuumed for years as any I have bought are way too loud for me but this Bosch is AMAZING...It is just 66db! and claims to be the quietest vacuum on the market which I can well believe. I must get one for myself but waiting until they go on sale as currently they are about £300.

That's a great link, didn't know there was such a thing as a quiet mark.

But you need to keep this all quiet (no pun intended); I have a deal that I get the food shopping while my other half does the vacuuming, because it spikes my t. I like this deal and would like to keep it as long as possible.

I bought this yesterday for when "I" get to vacuum.
Its insanely quiet. Of course there is noise, its a vacuum, but even at its highest level I doubt it goes over 70db. I've tried other quiet vacuums over the years, and sure they may be quiet at low suction but then they ramp up at higher suction. Highly recommended if anyone is after a quiet vacuum.
