How Loud Is a LandCruiser 79 ute? Car Deadening Experiences? Share Your Tips!

Has anyone here ever owned a LandCruiser 79 ute?

I'm thinking of buying one but not sure if these things are too much of a loud drive.

I currently own a LandCruiser Prado and it seems okay to me. Only on the freeway I wear some earplugs on those long trips.

Anyone have any advice for buying cars?

There are ways of decreasing the cabin volume by sound deadening. Has anyone ever done this?

 

I sound deadened my 2002 Audi A4 back around 2006 or so... went from generally quiet to a vault for most car noises. Though you do seem to notice the other noises that would otherwise be covered up, like wind noise more.

And your doors will feel like they are armored when you close them.

 

@frischky, that sounds awesome. I ended up purchasing a Hilux 2014. They are a bit quieter and I have been looking into sound deadening. It's a big DIY job but sounds like it's worth it!
