Driving to my daughter’s house on Christmas Eve, for an Xmas dinner, I hit the kerb of a central road traffic island, which should have been illuminated, but unfortunately wasn’t.
The impact destroyed the tyre and the driver’s seat when the airbag detonated.
      My car was a write-off.

I arrived two hours late for the meal, awaiting a breakdown service, but other than being shaken up, I was okay.

That’s quite enough of my tale of woe.

I would like to thank so many members on Tinnitus Talk for their kindness and support for me over the last few years.
      I have appreciated every sentiment.

This picture appeared on my Facebook feed today, and I would like to extend these thoughts and wishes to every one of you.
Thank you all once again, for your love and kindness.

Oh my, Dave, that must have been quite the shock to your system. You were very fortunate to have walked away from the crash, it could have been much worse. :huganimation:

Take care and do get some rest, sometimes aches and pains show up later on.

Lets hope 2020 will be an improvement for all of us. ❤️

Glad you are ok @Jazzer !
When the air bag detonated, was it loud?

      Time for a new 2020 car! :)

Yes - the airbag was very loud, but it actually burst, flooding the interior with smoke and noxious chemicals. Very unpleasant Once.

I have to tell you that, whenever I fail at something (i.e. an accident ), I feel quite low for a few hours, like I feel some self doubt.
It doesn’t last long, because I am obviously aware that we all fail at times.
But tinnitus has left me much more sensitive than before.

Does anybody else experience greater sensitivity I wonder?

We all need to remind ourselves and others that we are pretty amazing people to cope with this condition, and to still live productive lives, contributing to the lives of our families and friends.
Little do they know of just what our load is.

      Yes. I do. :(
I'm typing with one hand...grrrr. Otherwise, I'd elaborate more on that subject.

I always aim at composure of course, but my tears are not so far away.
Because ‘T’ puts us one degree under, we are aware of coping with something before we start.
I am sometimes vulnerable to a random act of kindness.
Struggling with my self-checkout shopping one day, a lovely assistant noticed my unease, and said - “are you okay sweetheart?”
She was just being very kind
      - so why did I feel very sad?

I guess I realised that she knew nothing of my real distress.

      Tell me I’m weird ?

I was involved in a car crash in early November. Around 40 or so km/h when my Volvo impacted a BMW which later hit a Toyota SUV. Thankfully very little damage to the car thanks to the sturdy build, but the airbags went off. I was immediately paranoid about tinnitus, but everything was fine. No spike.

Also total write off, even though insurance declared 70% which is close enough. They wouldn't insure it afterwards. I still can drive the car, although I will need to replace the cracked windshield eventually. Definitely a few thousand dollars worth of damages, but insurance paid out.

Sometimes things can turn out well. Happy NYE.

What a shock it must have been!

I'm glad your okay sweet Jazzer, and I hope your tinnitus is not affected by it.

It's understandable if your still shaken up about it. Be extra kind to yourself these days.

You monarchists need to start driving on the correct (RIGHT) side of the road and put your steering wheels on the left side of the car. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?!?!?!

No wonder you're all crashing around and joining the EU.
