Hi there, I've seen Tinnitus Talk many times via Google since I got tinnitus but I've never made an account to partake. There are various types of therapies I'm interested in and I would like to ask if anyone has tried them before.
My favorite recommendation to sooth tinnitus is high quality Helichrysum (From Corsica) mixed with a carrier oil and applied to the outside of the ear (I've never tried putting it inside the ear but I'd be interested to hear your results if you have tried it). The oil is warming and soothing. Anytime my tinnitus spikes my best method is applying some oil and listening to soft sounds or doing a breathing meditation. If I use it before bed I usually see some reduction in severity by the morning.
Oral supplements I can recommend are; Schizandra (for detoxification if you happen to take something toxic that aggravates your tinnitus), Purple Reishi and Red Reishi (for sense of well being), Pycnogenol (For antioxidants), Ziziphus seed and Passion Flower (Sedatives), Magnetitum.
Not sure if I'm allowed to post the exact formulas I've taken but just remember to always choose high quality reputable sources when ingesting anything and use your best discretion.
Other than that I've never run into any herbal supplements or drugs that can cure it, so never believe anyone who tells you that their formula is some sort of top secret cure for tinnitus.
The best method I've found of reducing my tinnitus is avoidance of loud noises and time. It gets better and then worse again. If I can sleep I try to remind myself of the great opportunity I've been given to carry on with my life. Earplugs are a must. The worst sources of noise all stem from mankind. Dogs are second .
I'm interested in tinnitus retraining therapy and what you think of it.
I'm also interested in a device called Parasym:
The Parasym device and earclip electrode target the Vagus Nerve, sending micropulses of electrical current through the tragus.
