      Hi,

Just discovered this : In Pursuit of Silence, a documentary about our relationship to silence in our modern world.

      Directed by Patrick Shen.

"In our race towards modernity, amidst all the technological innovation and the rapid growth of our cities, silence is now quickly passing into legend. From causing aggressive behaviour to hundreds of thousands of heart attacks around the world, there is no aspect of human life that noise does not infringe upon. Silence as a resource for respite and renewal from the sensory onslaught of our modern lives is now more important than ever before. In Pursuit of Silence is a meditative film about our relationship with silence, sound and the impact of noise."

I can't wait to see it. That's a very good thing such movies are made. Silence is not lost yet.

      A great little film.
Sadly though those living with Tinnitus already know the value of silence only too well, but cant find it.
      Living torture.

I don't think it's about knowing the value of silence.

It's more about : what do we do with silence in our noisy world ?

Haven't seen the movie, but follows up on ideas that solitude is becoming a luxury item. I find this is pretty true - even in far away national parks, I have been swarmed by other tourists. You have to get to more and more exclusive areas to get away from the "madding crowd".

The funny thing is that with my T I find I want to be alone and in silence even more, even though I can't "hear" the silence- perhaps noise just makes my T worse or more noticeable, or having T means that I appreciate being without other noise even more.
