      Tinnitus Since:
2005 (but huge spike two months ago)
      Cause of Tinnitus:
Water in middle ear from neti pot.
I am finding that my right is is deaf at tones around 12 kHz, but if I increase the tone to 14 kHz, suddenly it kicks back in again. Is this normal?

For what reason could someone have a gap in the middle of their frequency range?

I have a dip to 45 Db loss at 6k but 20-25 everywhere else. I can completely hear the gap when I play a rising frequency video. The ENT suggested that the 6k dip profile was consistent with acoustic trauma. I lived more than half of my life at this point so I am sure I was around a big bang more than once over the years, but nothing that I was aware of harming my hearing. Who knows?
