Hi,

I had a mixed hearing loss since my first ear surgery (02/06/2017) and my acoustic trauma (23/07/2017), the different audiograms show a good evolution: the last, in March, indicate a normal hearing and in the letter of the ENT, he told I have a normal audiogram. Is it a good sign?

Yes, although a normal audiogram isn't indicative of a hearing apparatus in great standing unfortunately, but it's definitely better than the other way around.

I have mild hearing loss at 3-4khz (30db).
I think my tinnitus is mild and heard in quiet places. I have read people with normal audiograms having worse tinnitus than mine.

ahh, if only tinnitus was simple to understand. As above, it's great you don't have noticeable hearing loss as that can impact your life a lot. People can have no measurable hearing loss and tinnitus and then very dramatic hearing loss and no tinnitus; they are not always inextricably linked.

You could request a higher frequency hearing loss test above 8khz if you wanted more understanding. You can also have a read about "hidden hearing loss" on the forums as well.

All the best.

Hi Sam,
Initially I had Mild Tinnitus and my audiogram was normal, a dip at 5db on 3khz and 4khz, after the vemp test it dropped to 30db on 4khz, however my T is nothing like yours (we have same hearing loss), mine is a blasting 8/10 and it can be heard over 90% of things. How long did it take for yours to reduce?

Hi dpdx

It has always been the same since i got it. Its a static noise, quite soft but i'd still like to be rid of it one day. Is yours one sound or multiple?

I usually mask mine with pink noise from my iphone, it only has to be on volume level 3 to mask it but if i don't have it on i will be able to pick "bits" of it out when watching the tv for example.
