I think that's what it's called. The little flap on your ear?

As I read this can cause pressure on the ear drum. I usually do this when I hear loud noises or to stupidly listen to my T. Other people mention just putting their fingers in their ear but it doesn't seem to block out much sound.

Thanks.

It's the best way to safely block external sound (I learned that from an episode of "The Avengers" when I was little). If you push hard and keep on doing it then the pressure won't do you any favours but a s technique for blocking noise it's sound.

Doing it to listen to your T is very bad, just means that you keep on reminding yourself to hear it, which lets it entrench in your brain as something you should hear..

where do you read this? i say that's not true.

pushing on tragus is safe, cant understand why it would not be!
Thanks, Stink. I can't actually remember, I'll try and find it again. I read something about it creating a sort or vacumn which harms the ear drum, I thought it was a load of rubbish but better to be safe than sorry.
