Cause of Tinnitus
sinusitis or headphones?
English is 2nd language.

I developed a mild case of tinnitus on August 12th, I went to the ENT and turns out I have a huge allergy, she told me that since my sinuses where so congested, that was likely causing my ears to ring/be blocked.

I recently was on Montelukast (Singulair) and still am on Flonase nasal spray. Since I started using the spray, one of my tones completely disappeared, which is great.

BUT the Montelukast was making me so freaking depressed that my parents and I agreed for me to stop taking it two days ago. I'm 16 and I've read stories of children getting long term depression or psychosis after being on Singulair and I'm honestly terrified.

I know I could also take antihistamines like Zyrtec or Alavert but it seems that most of them are know to be ototoxic, so should I really risk it and make my potentially reversible tinnitus permanent?

Are there any meds for allergies that won't make everything 100627% worse? Please help.

I've got an allergy and I take Zyrtec or Allertec every year in spring (1 month).

I've got tinnitus for 5 years (acoustic trauma) and these meds never did nothing wrong in my case. No spike, no worsening.
Hovewer, I can only speak for myself.

I take 120mg fexofenadine a day and Montelucast and a stroid nasal spray .

love glynis
