Hi guys! I’ve had tinnitus for a couple of years now. Seems to be from a viral infection I had. Also i’m loosing my hearing in both ears and not sure if it will get worse as I get older or if it will remain at this level. Hopefully the latter. I have a hearing aid to help with the hearing loss but I notice it can make the tinnitus worse at the best of times. I’ve been to 2 different specialists regarding this and have an appointment with another one coming up. I’ve had scans and scopes and nothing was found thankfully. So i’m in the dark and not sure what type of tinnitus this is or the best way to combat it. It affects my sleep and I usually having something playing in the background so I can fall asleep.

It’s bizarre and very annoying. Any tips and advice would be very helpful.

Sounds like you have the medical part covered. I have sound induced T so I'm thinking mine will be with me until the cows come home and I don't have no frigging cows. Hopefully yours will go as quickly as it came. For now research the threads in this forum and maybe try some of the treatments that have helped others.

I really hope you get some cows soon! I know the pain. It’s not pleasant at all. There’s genes within the family and few cousins have hearing loss and one of my cousins was born deaf. But i don’t know if the tinnitus would relate to that either? I feel all over the place. Hopefully something will come of this appointment.. will definitely dive into the forums and research so remidies. Thank you.

The thing is don't let it beat you down. If you tough it out then eventually your brain wants to forget it. There are times when I don't even notice I have T. Then there are times when I drink bourbon and the next morning a freight train invaded my house.... Just saying watch what causes the spikes and live accordingly.

Haven’t thought of that before. I will definitely watch this now and see what causes a spike! Didn’t think certain things may cause it to spike! Thank you again.
