As of about a week ago, I've been getting a low pitched, sort of thumping sound in my right ear. It sounds and feels almost like the sort of pressure/sensation you get when yawning deeply. My memory is poor, but as far as I can recall, this is completely new.
As mentioned in the title, I've most always experienced a high pitched continuous ringing, though it's only really noticeable when it's quiet. Now, this new sound is noticeable for the majority of the day, and is especially obnoxious when listening to music, or when trying to sleep.
Nothing in my lifestyle has changed this past week, and I haven't been exposed to any particularly loud noises that may cause it. So, does anybody know if this might be some random development in my (self-diagnosed) tinnitus, or could it be something else entirely?
Also, I had an appointment with a specialist made after mentioning the ringing to my doctor during a check-up, so I will be seeing professional help somewhat soon regardless. However, when I previously spoke with my doctor about a month ago, I didn't have the issue I do now, and the appointment is still a ways away. As such, I'd like to know in the meantime if anybody has potential insight to this.
