Lithium Possibly Helping Tinnitus — Feeling Hopeful

I’d be curious to hear if anyone using prescription Lithium has pain hyperacusis and if it has any effect. Apparently, Lithium might work for neuropathic pain.

Yes, Lithium is working for me. The best it can. I do not take other meds. I have blood work done to check its levels. I have been on it for 3 years.

Yes, what I mean is Lithium leveled out most side effects of tinnitus and spikes I was having.

I have 3 tones that go up and down. Did my tinnitus go away? No. But I believe I habituated well with the help of Lithium.

 

I was offered Lithium years ago by a psychiatrist pre-tinnitus. I’m glad it’s helping you to level things out and provide some relief. I have mostly static noise now. I seemed to get 1 day relief from a steroid injection to my left TMJ. Maybe it contained lidocaine? My jaw doesn’t bother me that much.
