Things are pretty good, my flights were fine except that I stopped to buy some things in the airport, and had a cashier who kept misusing the word "subtotal" which for whatever reason gave me such a headache that I pounded a bloody mary on top of 300mg of THC and an otherwise empty stomach at 9am, and all the tomato juice did not really agree with me and I felt sort of ill ;)

Good luck! Growing is fun. Avoid the common newbie mistakes of overwatering and harvesting too early!

I hope everything is going well on your end! I am back home and thankfully back to not having to spend money on cannabis.

Work produced over last weekend includes 3.5g of Bruce Banger wax and 4g of Cream & Cheese wax, each extracted from an ounce of flower we grew last summer.

@JohnAdams well I wouldn’t say that it gets a little more noticeable like hearing it but it’s nice to kick back watch something funny and not stress over it, when I first started smoking it was bad with my tinnitus but after 2-3 sessions it doesn’t really get loud Mabey it’s because my ears are healing but, best way to start is more cbd to lower thc but the mix of cbd and thc in the bud makes you mellow and not just focus on your tinnitus(btw sorry for saying you, your, ect) I’m not sure if you will have the same response like being high but I just know it helps me, if you really enjoy being high w tinnitus then welcome to the club (not sure if your post was sarcasm!) lol it’s all good.

      To JohnAdams:

Amazingly, recreational cannabis will be available in the State of Illinois starting 01/01/2020.
Previously, my physician said he would prescribe medical cannabis for my migraines.

If this is indeed a pain reliever, I am very curious about the effect it will have on tinnitus.
I definitely intend to experiment with this, and will report my results.

@DaveFromChicago try it out, I was a smoker before this happen so my tolerance is very high, I would start with a vape pen(healthier for your e-tubes) but take small doses at first or you will get paranoid and makes sure to not check on it because at first it will seem more noticeable but with the more times you do it the better you react(let’s just say right now whenever I’m high my t goes from a 1-.5) just remember everyone is different and I don’t want to make it seem it will help you but it sure helps me.

a thing to keep in mind with pot is that you're actually experimenting with at least five drugs we know of (THC, THV, CBD, CBG, CBN) -- and all of these things modulate each other's activity. Additionally, the same plant material might release different ratios of these chemicals depending on exactly how it's burned (THC turns into CBN during pyrolysis, so smoking a blunt with a huge thousand degree cherry likely exposes you to less THC and more CBN than the same material would if you vaporized it).

I am only pointing this out because even if you're someone for whom cannabis is beneficial it can take a lot of experimentation to become convinced of that and optimize it.

I would not call it an analgesiac in the traditional sense; cannabis is not an opiate. However, there is downstream impact on the function of μ-opioid receptors; agonism by opioids made by the body (endorphins) increases following exposure to THC, at least in some circumstances. Anecdotally, some strains have a much stronger "narcotic" effect than others.

I have to disagree with this pretty strongly; vape carts generally have a carrier, often PG or MCT. Vaporizing PG is quite likely to be directly ototoxic; the long term effects of vaporizing MCT are still pretty unknown.

If inhaling, the safest thing to do is likely to minimize the amount of anything that has to be inhaled: vaporize a high-purity concentrate that was either made with no solvents, or only using food-grade solvents (co2 or ethanol).

Many commercial products that aren't extremely expensive are extracted with butane, and with the exception of a few places like Berkeley, most places allow the end product to be up to 5000ppm butane. That's an amount which can be tasted. It's gross. If you want to smoke pot there's no reason you should need to smoke butane in the process.

It's sad, but after an initial period where pot got much safer as a result of legalization, we're seeing the swingback where big industry corner cutting makes the product less safe again.

I only smoke home made oil extracted with food-grade ethanol from home-grown pot; I wish everyone was in a situation to do this, because it's really not that hard, and corporations that sell mind-altering, potentially addictive drugs are pretty untrustworthy across the board.

@linearb has it effect your tinnitus I’m a month in but it seems to improve my quality of life, also I have acoustic truama and was told it should fade in a few more months if not weeks! It has been fading but weed helps me not think about it I don’t know if the same happens with you?

It tended to spike me, before I was using other meds as well, but always improved my sleep onset and duration substantially.

It seems to synergize with the other stuff I take in a useful way, but I don't exactly get intoxicated from using it anymore.

Pot has neither helped nor made it worse for me. I wish it worked, I would have no problem using it as treatment. Slight relief forgetting about it for a while, that’s about it.

From my experience, smoking/vaporizing spikes it. Microdosing edibles did not spike it and made me feel pretty breezy for about an hour and a half, but had a lot of trouble getting to sleep afterwards. Not worth it to me.

What would be the best way to get into weed without smoking it? I have done so when I was younger, but am opposed to smoking now. Also, should I just try CBD instead? I don't want to get high when taking care of the kids by myself or at work for example.

      Some advice requested:

Recreational cannabis is now legally purchasable in Illinois.
There is a dispensary 1.25 miles away from me.

I have been told that it may alleviate migraines.

Will it have an effect on tinnitus?

Maybe. Wouldn't be permanent. If I were in a recreational state I'd probably take the 1:1 CBD/THC edible products fairly regularly. Maybe look into that if you are just dipping your toes in? Shouldn't be too dramatic or intoxicating.

If you are new and you don't want to smoke I would go for vaping.
Edibles are very hard to dose, and take a long time to have effect.
It's easy to overdose with edibles. If you vape you can take 1 hit and see how you feel.

Weed has a very strange effect on my tinnitus.
When I'm just getting high it can nearly silence it, it seems that the brain is too excited with the high, and dopamine is flooding in.
Later is really spikes it to a 2x level.

But as it seems that the fusiform cells in the dorsal cochlear nucleus have a lot of CB1-receptors as well, and is plays a role in neuroplasticity, I'm just having a break of about 6 months, as I want the full Lenire experience.

My tinnitus just got bad this November. Up until then I was an everyday smoker but I stopped immediately because I knew it was just making me more paranoid and keeping my focus on it. However, after several weeks, when I realized that sleep was becoming more and more of a problem, I decided to smoke a very very small amount along with ingesting few drops of cbd oil an hour before bedtime. I may have a little spike but sleep is no longer a problem. I'd rather smoke a little than turn to pharmaceuticals for sleep. But as far as migraines, I've personally have never had marijuana kill any pain or headache but maybe that's just me.

I absolutely lost it at this comment hahaha. I think the worst thing tinnitus has done to me is made me unable to smoke weed. After some time I've been able to get my normal life back except for weed. It makes the sound in my head to terrifying that I can not bare it. I wish I had your mindset!

Well an update on this comment.

1 in 3 times it seems to make my tinnitus (dare I speak its name) quieter, or maybe just not notice it?

Also, I'm trying to look at things in the long run, as I'm only 24. Marijuana has a strange way of making you face your fears. It may spike the perception of your tinnitus and make you reconsider life. But hey... after all that you have a new appreciation of life again and tinnitus seems to back off. I smoke a lot less. But let's say, I try "face my fears" as often as I can, if i am brave enough.

      1 in 3 ain't bad considering I'm 6 months in.

So please, marijuana, I am ready for you to guide me (hippy shit), as you have so many times in the past.
