Pixelitor is best used for logo text generation, gimp is superior in any other area but logo text generation.

Saying qualia and volition is a property of the natural world is not the same thing as dualism or religion. You are demystifying consciousness by giving it a role in nature.

 

@Contrast I want you to know that I had a more or less materialistic view of consciousness at one point but I think you have changed my mind.

 

TLDR. Most people never take the time to learn software and use it to its full potential.

Gimp in it's default is horrible. No wonder it gets so much criticism.

(Default with it's notorious disattached windows, and no way to easily access brushes and colors.)

You have to get rid of the dark theme, enable single window mode, Give gimp keyboard shortcuts and or mouse shortcuts to enlarge/shrink brushes on command.

In my case "1 key" shrinks the brush and "2 key" enlarges it. "Shift + 1 key" would decrease it by 10 pixels. Some people prefer the mouse to enlarge keys. Gimp makes this very easy to do but most people sadly don;t know that.

After that you have to set keyboard shortcuts to manage layers and switch brushes. Download custom brushes that fit your fancy. Download G'mic (gimp filters), Assign your favorite brushes and make sure the "brush dialog" is extended on the side panel. I also forgot to mention assigning stroke brushes and shortcuts so one can draw circles,squares and rectangles.

Once you are done, Gimp becomes an excellent program. Save your preference settings as .Json or make a folder back up of gimps settings. You also have to save custom brushes and textures in a folder so you can transform any version of gimp 2.10 into your defaults.

Overall Gimp has an advantage on Windows as plugins that work on the Windows version of gimp don't work on the Linux version. This is unironic considering Gimp is known for being FOSS software originating from the linux community. But it's an undeniable fact that some mods for gimp are sometimes windows exclusive.

I don't understand why gimp is so digusting in it's default mode, people don't usually take the time to configure things. They just pay $80 USD a month for photoshop. Alternatively if they don't like gimp they can just run CS5
(the last version of photoshop that isn't subscription based) Gimp is superior to CS5 as I have it and prefer gimp.

It's "/" search function is basically S tier usability. Any program that has this becomes 50 times better for instant access to anything.

There are two ways I make use of Emojis when doing graphic art/making memes.


Tiny transparent images of emoji's can be saved as .gbr (gimp brushes) and put in gimps brush folder. however they are tiny and if you upscale them they look over stretched.




If you want larger emojis you have to download clip art online and paste it into a LibreDraw template. Each Emoji was scaled to be transparent and 300x25o pixels. You can easily copy paste the image files with that and a clipboard manager. I have many saved templates that I can launch from my templates menu.




Also Gedit and it's forks have a emoji search that can be pasted into the clipboard. This Overall doesn't have much usage if you compare it to the next option.

ULancher over all has the best way to fetch emojis for chats, but the gimp paint brush tool and copy paste from LibreDraw and clipboard manager is the best way to incorporate emoji's in graphic art. Gedit's ability for emoji's is not that useful.

I thought I read that you 'cured' your t. If so, how did you do it? Thx for your insight!

 

Mine was TMD induced, so it wont help much if yours isn't. My jaw was slightly crooked at the TMJ and using a night brace eased a ton of chewing pressure off my TMN. My right massader feels way better now too it used to be sore.

I define free will as having some degree of volition over our bodies. We are strongly effected by strong neural networks that remember habits and memories, the motor actions saved in the cerebrum and fight or flight reponses in the amygdala.

I didn't say unlimited freedom.

Volition is defined as a system of matter that is experiencing an internally felt state (aka consciousness) in this internal state the system is forced to make a choice. I am not arguing the systems choices are not influenced by auto pilot behavior in the brain. I am arguing we can introspect/modify that and act freely, even if it is limited.

 

Ever since plants and unicelluar life have done nothing but cause this model severe trouble. No one studied plant intelligence or unicelluar intelligence back then.
