Hi There

I've had tinnitus for a long time, can't remember exactly but probably for around 40 years, I think it was first triggered by the use of landscaping plant and equipment, chainsaws, mowers, tractors etc, back in the '70's we didn't wear ear defenders - then later on attending music shows and then playing in a band myself all with no protection has not helped the cause.

I have always just got on with it, however a couple of weeks ago I was suddenly taken ill with severe dizziness and nausea and was violently sick, after which a couple of days later I had recovered with no ill effect other than my tinnitus seemed to have significantly spiked since the episode.

I'm hoping it isn't permanent and will quieten back down.

Many thanks

Thanks - actually I was just wondering, not long after the episode I spoke about in my introduction my elderly mother had an accident the immediate aftermath of which was very stressful - just wondering whether the stress might have also contributed to my tinnitus spiking?

Yes! Stress is a big factor of causing a tinnitus Spike so try relax and off load any stress and go at your own pace.
