Hello everyone :) I have had tinnitus for just over a month and it has been a horrible experience so far

Any Tips for a new guy )

Welcome to the forum. Sorry about your struggle with a new T. What caused your T? If it is infection or acoustic trauma (loud noise exposure), then perhaps get your doctor to prescribe a course of prednisone or antibiotics. It is prudent to see doctor/ENT asap to rule out some medical issue with the ears.

There are many great threads on TT which can help a new T sufferer. Here is an excellent thread started by a member on what to do when you are new with tinnitus and stressed out. I added some comments to the OP's thread, but you can scroll up to post #1 to read up on the excellent suggestions by the original poster.

TT also has this excellent support thread which besides giving you some excellent masking sounds with an audio player, it also contains tips and step by step instructions for newer sufferers. It contains link to the Positivity Thread, a sleep thread, as well as links to ATA & BTA for more useful info. The more you learn about T, the less you will be fearful of it and the easier for the brain to stay calm. Here is the link for it: ((the icons on the left side give you step-by-step instructions what to do and the audio player is highlighted by the hypertext 'our player')

When T is new, a new sufferer is generally very anxious and stressed. This tends to aggravate T to make it worse. So it is best to stay calm and positive as humanly possible as you can. Stay active and do things to distract from paying attention to T. Do read up as many success stories as you can, as they will give you hope and calm you down, as well as providing some insights and strategies on how to get better. Take good care & God bless your revoery.

Have you seen the doctor to rule out ETD? The infection may affect your Eustachian Tube and hence the disorder and perhaps the reason for the bad T.

You may have Eustachian Tube Disfunction or ETD when the tube is blocked or swollen due to inflammation. The symptoms are dizziness, ear pain, ear fullness or pressure, popping or cracking when swallowing, dull hearing, etc. It usually will improve after the tube is back to normal after some time. Here is a good site to read up on it to see if your symptoms fit the description of ETD:
