I'm begging all of you please do not make this a thread about "is reactive tinnitus" even real?
If you have to ask that...this thread does not apply to you. Please do not prevent me from getting the help that I need from the people that will understand.
I am 23 and I am at my wit's end.
I have my "normal" tinnitus like everyone else. It is deafeningly loud in silence But I genuinely don't care because it's a constant hiss noise. I sleep like a baby.
However, I have other tinnitus tones and one is reactive. It doesn't come from my ears it comes from my head. I step outside and even the noise of wind causes my head to start making weird electrical noises. They are IMMEDIATE reactions to noise and they are LOUD. And then they STAY loud for about an hour after exposure. The tinnitus sounds like Really distorted squeaky electrical pulses. They are not constant. It's almost like when a DVD players keeps skipping.
It's not a "constant" tinnitus so I don't even know how to describe it. It's literally like "shooting noise". When I say loud I mean louder than 90 decibels. Once I'm in semi silence I can still hear it react to the fridge but it's so low in volume that I don't care because my other constant T tones drown it out .
People with reactive tinnitus, besides TRT, how do you cope? I really need a positive story from someone who has had this for years. Please I haven't found anyone with severe reactive tinnitus.
