Hi. I am wondering if anyone can help.

I had blocked ears a few weeks ago and went to the doctor because I was flying to Norway the following week and worried about flying.

My inner ears were inflamed and the doctor gave me a course of antibiotics.

When I got home I had a strange noise mainly in my left ear. It sounds like rumbling traffic noise. I then starting feeling very unwell and had very swollen glands so went back to the doctor who diagnosed glandular fever.

After probably 4-5 weeks I am starting to feel a bit better but still have the extremely irritating noise in my ear. My right ear is also affected today.

Has anyone else experienced this with glandular fever. Will it go away?

Tinnitus is often the last thing to clear up/disappear after treatment for blocked ears.

Are you sure this is an "inner ear" problem? Are you sure it's not the "middle ear" as this is what doctors can see directly?

Did you actually fly? What advice were you given in respect to this?

Hi, I'm not really sure if it's middle or inner ear. All he said were my ears looked inflamed. I did fly and the doc said it would be ok.
