Not-So-Loud Noises Making Tinnitus Worse?

I absolutely hate noises that might not be what some consider loud, but I do. I try my absolute best to protect my ears nowadays but there everyday there is something that sneaks it's way when I'm not wearing ear plugs. The reason I bring this up is because I have read that if your brain feels like whatever the sound your hearing is bad or damgerous, it can make T worse. So seeing is how any moderate noise (slamming car door, dropping something big, car horn etc.) makes me upset or angry, does that mean my T is just going to get worse and worse?
