At Nudge, we're building the best technology for interfacing with the brain to improve people's lives — safely, precisely, and without surgery.

They raised $100 million in Series A funding. A phenomenal amount.

They have a tinnitus study that is paused.

You can sign up for the database if you live in America.

"Please note this is not a treatment study. The information we collect will help us develop better research tools and advance our understanding of tinnitus mechanisms."

Tinnitus studies feel habitually delayed, paused, or forgotten.

FDA approval takes decades, time we simply do not have. We need fewer studies and more action.

We can transplant a heart, but we cannot figure out how to stop a noise in the ear. Why is this? I honestly do not know 🤷

But tinnitus is a real bitch.

This is a great find @Nick47, thank you for sharing. I think there's real potential in this area to help tinnitus research as a whole. On their main page, they showed what they hope will be a future helmet device that can be worn anywhere. It basically looked like a headset, and that would be great if it could actually happen one day. Their raising 100 million is also remarkable. Wish them nothing but the best.

I emailed their team, and someone named Elise responded, saying they are currently finishing some of their other studies. She said they hope to reopen the tinnitus study, fill out their general interest form, and keep me updated. If you haven't already, go fill out their form. It takes 1 minute, and I think it helps to show that this is an avenue worth following.

Pardon my lack of understanding; I still don't know what they are trying to do or how this will help tinnitus research. Are they just collecting "brain data"? How would any of us participate in it, and what's the impact?

Thanks for the suggestion. I am linking the Nudge general interest form page here as it took me a few minutes to find it.

Thanks for doing that. They didn't return a response to my email.

I'm kinda non-plussed at the amount of money they collected.

Santa Klaus came early to California this year, I guess. Has this got to do with Climate Change and Global Warming? :)
