Otonomy OTO-311 Phase II Clinical Trial for Tinnitus

      Yeah these things take time. I think like 1/10 drug candidates actually ever make it.

      In my opinion, this OTO-311 has a chance of working but only for acute tinnitus. I base this opinion on a similar MoA to AM-101. It was also on actiononhearingloss (I think) that it is only for acute - yet Otonomy have not confirmed this.

      Either way the first to get some relief from tinnitus is going to pay off for them and will make all this work worthwhile.

      Exactly. I'd expect OTO-311 to be as a failure as AM-101 (by the way, I think it's focused on "acute" tinnitus). I'm way more interested in their hair cell regeneration program.

      Agreed. I am not interested in OTO-311 either but in the hair-cell reg. + synaptic repair.

      I have emailed Otonomy asking if OTO-311 is for chronic or just acute. I will update this thread if any reply.

      Based on my limited understanding I think it will be just for acute. But then I can focus on what research is going on to treat us chronics...
