Though it’s hard to pick just one, this is probably my favorite scene in Batman Returns. Pfeiffer didn’t get enough praise for that role.

Ya, she was good in Scarface, too. Besides Batman and Scarface, I dunno if I’ve seen any of her other movies. I saw parts of that romance one where she’s hooking-up with Ashton Kutcher. I think she was in Grease 2. I’ll have to look at her filmography. I haven’t seen Dangerous Minds, but I remember the Gangster Paradise song and poster. It’s one of those movies that I grew up around, seeing it on Blockbuster shelves all the time. Never saw it, tho. Does anyone remember the popular song from the ‘90s, I think, that mentions Michelle Pfeiffer by name? I can’t remember the song.

 

There are two songs that I know of that mention her by name. Riptide, released in 2013 and Uptown Funk in 2015.

JLO has aged beautifully. Salma has, too. I’d probably pick Salma for 2 reasons. One, the ‘90s Salma sizzled. JLO always has, too, but Salma just caught my attention more back in those days, ever since Fools Rush In. Two, Salma has only been married once and is still married. JLO has been married like 4 or 5 times. No diss to her, but I’d want something long-term.

She was in Mother! (2016). Weird film. I’m not a fan of the movie because I find the director to be pretentious, but Pfeiffer’s performance was the only decent part about that movie.

She’s also in Ant Man and the Wasp (2018), albeit there’s not much screentime with her as I would have liked. As I said before, she still looks amazing.

I haven't seen Mother! I've read how weird and according to some, how bad it is. So, do you think it's worth sitting through just for Michelle Pfeiffer's performance?

Ya, she still looks great! I haven’t seen that Mother! movie. I looked it up and I saw that Jennifer Lawrence is in it, too. Pfeiffer and Lawrence might be the 2 most mentioned women in this thread so far.

 

Well when you put it ▲ that way, @Jerad, I have to agree, Salma definitely has something about her. (º﹃º)

But I still prefer Jessica. Something cute and innocent about her.

However what we have now is a dilemma. Because unlike me and @Jerad - who can live happily not treading on each others toes with the Salma/Jessica negotiation - we are now after the same Waifu.

Ya, Jessica has the “it” factor, for sure. She’s beautiful and has that innocence about her; that angelic vibe.

So after we battle it out with Blast Ball, which Winstead do we get?

1. The modern, free spirit, reading to party and conquer the world Winstead.


2. The conservative Winstead, who loves to stay-in and cook meals together; desires to build a big family. Two or three kids is on the itinerary.


3. The wild Winstead, where anything’s possible and nothing’s fixed. Absent are rules and boundaries — there are no expectations. She’s hard to read and you’ll be lucky to ever know her. In fact, you may never know what she’s truly thinking.


Another problem... she’s with Ewan in real-life — Obi Wan. Are we prepared to fight him off? Do we have the high ground?

To be honest with you, no. It’s a small role and not enough to carry the movie. It was such a frustrating film to watch. Most of the characters in it make me want to rip my hair out..

There are a lot of biblical allegories in it but the whole movie is a allegory for climate change. It wasn’t really conveyed all that well IMO.

Winstead VS Winslet: who’s the winner?

Keep in mind, Winslet might have an advantage here. We’ve had the privilege of seeing her naked in several movies. Right off the top of my head, Titanic comes to mind and yes, they were “titanic.” She was also nude in The Reader a bunch (I just saw it recently) and Little Children.
