I just pray for you. Take it easy Blair. There are better days ahead. A few years back, I prayed every night for guidance to relieve my suffering. I felt prompted to not fear the mad ringing but to learn to live my life in grace, that it would take time to adjust to my new life and so it did.

I also questioned why I had to suffer so much with severe T & H as well as anxiety and panic attacks. In searching for the divine wisdom, I realized that my suffering was not any where as bad as Job. Apostle Paul even wrote in Romans 5:1-5 about why we have sufferings in life and what we should do in face of sufferings. This is the promise after we endure the sufferings James 1:2-4

All the best and take care of yourself.

Blair, i will pray for you tonight. I am suffering very badly at the moment from my own T. Thus, your not alone today or tonight. I have tears in my eyes at the moment from how much this torment has wrung me out today. I look forward to falling asleep to just get away if not consciously then subconsciously.

My prayers to you. You are not alone. I'm also having a horrid night.

But I hope you find peace and a quietness within yourself that makes you feel at ease. It's in there, somewhere, as it is in all of is.
I'm looking for it now. Praying for it.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be, let it be.

That is pretty inspirational. Thanks for sharing those verses. Did your tinnitus ever calm down?

My T is about the same but I don't fear it any more and no more negative reaction. When T is no longer considered a threat, the brain will learn to fade it out from consciousness when we are focused on something else. This is much like us deep into watching a movie on a flight and not paying attention nor aware of the loud jet noise all around us.

Hey Billie, I noticed in the positivity post you put down that you are drug free now even though you used to have anxiety and depression. Can I ask how long you have been off drugs and how you were able to do it? I find that fascinating. I believe if I did not have tinnitus, I could probably be drug free 90% of the time but still need some now and then. I would love to be without them though. If you already told the story before, just send me a link to the post if you can! Thanks for getting back to me.

I think I posted that I am drug free for T & H. They can't extract any negative reaction from me any more. But I do use drugs for blood pressure and prostate which comes with aging. I have not used drugs for T & H for a few years now. I have habituated to the ringing and so T doesn't bother me any more. Time is the essence in this process. You simply can't rush the body. It takes time for it to get used to the loud screen. Good strategies such as CBT, mindfulness and mental imagery help a lot (read my success story for detail). I also use hobbies heavily to help me heal from anxiety and panic disorder. The outdoor hobbies of hiking and fishing are wonderful. Gardening brings calmness and joy of life. I also travel to vacation often to bring joy to life. T can go to hell. Finding joy amid the pain is a good approach. The more we do it, the more joy and less pain. All the best to your recovery. You will get there. God bless.

Thanks for being so kind. I think the original poster put this up in November 2014 but hopefully he is doing a lot better! We all could use some prayer and God's grace for sure. :)
