How do you set the mood for reading books such as novels? Play white noise? Read outdoors?

I want to start reading again (I can read for work purposes), but I would like some tips on how to keep reading a relaxing experience.

Well, all I can say is that I am a reader and I have continued to read books after major Tinnitus. I just force myself to read and I think for me it is actually a help for getting my mind off the tinnitus. I would suggest to just start reading even if it is hard. Keep doing it, and with practice hopefully you will be able to pick up a book without the fear. Most of my reading is before I go to sleep. I literally cannot go to bed without a book to read. I really do think that developing the practice of getting immersed in a good book will help with habituation. Hope this is encouraging.

I find recently that reading seems to exacerbate my tinnitus. Anyone else have this experience?
