I'm pretty sure you can't find any published studies on PubMed.

You might want to read up on homeopathy, I don't believe in it and think it's a clever way to scam people, but that's my personal opinion and I totally respect your opinion if it differs from mine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeopathy

As far as I know T-gone is snake oil at best. How dare they market it like that.

      2002
Hello peeps. I have had tinnitus since April 2002, following a severe rear impact to my car. We don't know if it was the very loud bang of the impact that caused it, or compressive damage since it was an old car and the windows were shut, or whether it is involvement from the neck, since I suffered a very bad whiplash from it, or whether it was stress induced as I was suffering from hyperaccusis and I was extremely angry about the way the man had driven into the back of me, he accelerated to try and slip in front of oncoming traffic at a junction, and failed to notice that I was waiting at the junction for a break in the traffic, he was on his mobile phone at the time, smoking a cigarette, and then alternatively tried to say my car wasn't badly damaged enough for him to have to give his details (ok, so the rear door wouldn't close but it "just needed someone to give it a bit of a bash") and then tried to say it was my fault because I should have taken the gap. (My car was an old diesel, i.e., not the fuel injected kind, and whilst his powerful car could have taken the gap as he was approaching at 30 miles an hour, my car from stationary would have got it's bonnet mangled and probably killed someone.) The tinnitus was there immediately but took 3 days to rev up to the jet steam aircraft warming up sound that it became. I got referred to several specialists, but it took ten months before the last specialist was available to be seen. I was treated by Dr. Jonathan Hazel, and Jacqui, of all the people I saw, they were the first to be honest with me and tell me there was no cure, but they would help me to learn to cope to live with it, and that was my turning point. I underwent tinnitus retraining therapy with Jacqueline using sound generators that look like hearing aids. At the point where this started I was feeling suicidal over it, so having someone be honest with me was the beginning of me learning to cope, and Jacqui was strong and kicked my ass for a year. I think the noise generators were more of a placebo than anything else. Jacqui's main message was, you think you can't cope with never getting a rest from the noise ever again, but you can, and the physiological response is because noise can mean danger, and that's how the sub-concious responded to this noise, but in the end, it's just a noise. Yes it's irritating, but it won't hurt me. It took me 3 years before I was functioning normally again. But I still have to have sleeping tablets to get off to sleep, and the noise wakes me the instant the sleeping tablets have worn off, so in 10 years, I have not slept longer than 4 hours a night (from 9 hours a night). But I am now used to this. 2 things help reduce the intensity, the 1st is the occasional valium, which takes the volume down just a little, by calming down the whole nervous system a little, and the second is- I have had to have 2 surgeries since the accident, 1 was to fix the damage that was done to my neck, and in the first half hour after I wake up from the anaesthetic, the tinnitus is absent. I was very excited the first time this happened, as it was a neck op, I thought it had also cured my tinnitus, so I was really depressed when half an hour later it came back in full force, The second time, I expected it, and just luxuriated in that half hour of being tinnitus free. Hence arriving at this forum, I spotted the thread on ketamine as a possible treatment, and that is an anaesthetic, and I've experienced that relief from anaesthesia, so if it's something they can put locally in the ear, I'll be very happy. [ps. my nickname refers to the HUGE amount of money I paid to snake oil merchants in the first 18 months of having tinnitus, one of which was ?icing sugar powder/talcum powder? from T-gone which I bought and took religiously for a year because I was convinced that if I didn't, my luck would mean it would turn out that it was the one and only magical cure after all but it only works in the first year. (Other snake oil merchants are available.) This is I think one of the worst aspects of tinnitus early days, a person is so desperate, the doctors tell you there is no cure, but on the internet there are these unscrupulous merchants ready to exploit this desperation and you don't know this, and an optimist like myself starts with the premise that maybe they know something the doctors don't. No ... they don't]

Hi, @t-gone is a ripoff! Welcome, and thanks for sharing your story with us. I am glad to hear that the tinnitus retraining therapy worked for you --- it's worth a lot just to get rid of the fear associated with the tinnitus, even if the noise (and the lack of sleep!) are still there! I'm with you on that one, as I still have sleep problems, too, after over 2 years of severe tinnitus.

It's encouraging to note that anesthesia really does temporarily take away the T; that could mean ketamine, or something like it, might hold promise for the future for us T sufferers. Thanks for your hopeful story, and your cautionary tale of the snake oil merchants; they are certainly ready to prey upon desperate people!

Following up on this old thread authored by someone named "t-gone is a ripoff", I would like to point out the scam in question which is a "tinnitus cure" called t-gone (as well as a mention of their specific website):

      http://t-gone.com/about-us/

      upload_2014-12-28_3-8-33.png

The product, t-gone, is based on homeopathy, and whatever remedy you will end up using, it is purer than water. There is absolutely no way this product could affect your tinnitus (except for the placebo effect).

The site is run by John and Ellen Currie. It is a scam.

      Trash...

Following up on my own post from yesterday about the trash website, t-gone, run by John and Ellen Currie, here is a video of them from youtube:

P.S: If they lose market share in relation to t-gone because of my posts, might I suggest they try out their skills at video production instead...? I am sure it will be a hit... :D

I should add that the above is actually a best case scenario with t-gone... you may not even receive your order:

The above t-gone "product" is the kind of trash you wouldn't even want to touch with a pair of iron tongs...

The t-gone couple/scammers are also present on dailymotion where, despite being present with a video since 2008, it has thankfully only received 137 views at this time (so my comment about their video production skills in the above post still stands, I would say; perhaps they should also consider taking a course in Internet marketing, however... :D).

A bit more information on t-gone and their "star quality" product which will "cure" you in an instant:

      http://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/www.t-gone.com

      T-Gone (Ratings).png

Perhaps they should consider learning a thing or two about fake reviews if they intend to run a scam business. Judging by their video production skills along with their "impressive" Internet marketing, these guys are too stupid to own an Internet connection. I wonder how they managed to survive +10 years in the scam industry.

Anyway... youtube scams can be reported in the following manner:

      T-Gone (Report Scam).png

And the above was yet another of their trash videos...

@attheedgeofscience ...you go way beyond the call of duty!!!

You are a one man evisceration nightmare to any scammer...The deep sea scumbags that pull this kind of stuff deserve far more than a "posted trashing", I would like to let loose one of my old hacker friends from an undisclosed country and location, who could probably make their computer fans run so fast they would "fire up" their computers in a very literal way. Would be a rewarding and fitting blaze of un-glory...but I do tend to be more dramatic I guess.

      Thanks ATEOS!!!!!!

      t-gone is a rip-off,
Wow, thanx for sharing! What a difficult journey you have had; so glad you are doing well now.

These scams really make me angry; it seems that most sufferers of T get pulled into one or two (out of desperation); I went for 'Miracle Ear' in the first month (ugh). It may be wrong of me, but I have to admit I wish those charlatans would contract a horrible case of T and then pay tons of money for their own stupid product.

Interesting you mention anesthesia (specifically ketamine); I'm having minor surgery on my ankle 7 Jan and I'm curious the affects of anesthesia on T. The doc said I would be sedated but not completely out; I don't know much about anesthesia so I'm not sure what will be administered. @Zimichael told me to see if I could have ketamine administered just to see what it does to my T (if it's an option I'm game).

Off Topic here! Mark... You may not have noticed but that lady in UK posted that back in 2012...and was her only post. Pity, I would have liked to know more about the Ketamine too!
If you wish you can see a couple of brief threads on Ketamine by doing a search for it (here on TT). As mentioned though, the possible T effect is a full "lights out" dose...Ask me for more details via that PM.

Thanks @ATEOS! It's shameful the way these bottom feeders prey on desperate people. I tried Lipoflavanoids at $30 US for a one month supply the first month after my onset. It was a complete waste of money. After that I learned there is no cure...I think I was in denial that first few months.
