Screaming While Having Cotton/Other Ear Protection in Ear

I wonder if it's dangerous to yell or scream while having ear protection on.

I wear some cotton and sometimes I yell pretty loud, any idea if it's dangerous or not?

I wouldn't think there would be much more risk. However with ear protection in place you will notice your voice more (and any tinnitus for that matter) due to a big reduction in external noise which would normally mask internal sounds.

There is something called occlussion effect, I suggest you look into it. I personally would avoid screaming with plugs in to be sure.

I have to shout really loud every day at work
Getting classes in for dinner,lining up,dinner clubs etc and I wear hearing aids also....no problem ,
Can hear me shout right across the school yard so I don't need a whistle or bell
