The outing with friends went fine. It got a little loud, but my earplugs were with me.

I no longer hear the T when I'm focusing on work and other tasks. I still need a fan to sleep, and I plan to buy a white noise machine.

I've been able to read as long as I have background noise. About halfway through my book, though under normal circumstances I'd be done by now.

I dread taking public transportation and traffic. So many noises just seem...
      Bothersome, now.

A little, I guess. Thank you.

I'm still scared to sleep, though. Scared that when I wake up I'll be having another spike, despite my best efforts. Hasn't happened yet.

Can you switch jobs? I think a movie theater is a loud place to work at in general but especially for someone with tinnitus.

Tinnitus spikes can be delayed apparently.

I would try to get a quieter job. It would be one less noisy place to visit.

ENTs don't really do anything and the audiologist will just test your hearing. Unless you need a hearing aid, not much will happen after these appointments I'm afraid.

Some people suggest to skip the tool they stick in your ears - I think it's called a tympanometer.

Try to get lots of sleep. For some people, lack of sleep can result in spikes (when you wake up from low amounts of sleep).

      That's the plan!

Yes, I woke up with a spike a few times, and annoyed wondering what happened. Sleeping with ear plugs fixed that, and I sleep quite well now.
