      Hi all,

Last night I shouted as loud as I could across the road at my partner to get her attention. I shouted their name about 4 times.

My ears were being plugged firmly with my fingers because there was a heavy metal busking band playing across the street and my partner couldn’t hear me from the other side of the road where the band was when I was shouting.

I have since read about the occlusion effect exacerbating noise in the ear whilst ears are plugged. My shouting didn’t hurt my ears at the time when they were plugged. But I do feel anxious about it now.

Also, my tinnitus feels louder today - great!

      Any experiences with this anyone?

      Thanks,
      R

Yes my own voice can trigger a temporary spike, with or without blocking ears

I tend not to shout so much these days, but sometimes my teenagers wind me up to that point.
