not sure, but probably acoustic trauma
I have bilateral tinnitus but my spikes only happens when I am asleep (I wake up when the spike occurs). I had never noticed that it comes only from one ear, anybody has the same experience?

Lately yes. I never spike in day. I keep things quiet. I also have the low rumble that sounds louder if I pay attention to it. In the beginning I could plug ear to make it stop, now when I do that It gets a lot louder. I really don't like that one. Originally I thought it was pollen related, now I'm lost.
